Deborah Deborah is the 25" transitional Roddy which we promised to show you last time. This particularly well-made, sturdy doll has big blue eyes and short dark-blonde curly hair. Her head is vinyl, but her body is hard plastic. Deborah wears a white knitted angel top over blue check rompers, white socks and white satin shoes.
This huge, beautiful doll made from hard vinyl, is a Rosebud. She is 28" tall, and has curly ginger saran hair, big blue eyes and an open mouth with moulded tongue. It's possible that she was used in a shop as a model, advertising toddler clothes. We call her Rosina. Dating from the 1950s, Rosina wears a smocked baby dress and vyella coat from the same period. Rosina
Rosa This little charmer is another Rosebud, made in the 1960s. She is a softer vinyl than Rosina, and is a bent-limbed baby doll. 11" tall. Rosa has two-tone blonde hair and big blue eyes. She wears a beige floral sundress with a white broderie sunhat.
Petra is an early Tiny Tears, wearing her original blue check romper. Tiny Tears dolls were originally made by Palitoy in 1965, and they featured special joints which caused the limbs to flop naturally, just like a baby's, when they were held. They could drink, wet and cry real tears, and were 16" tall. One of the most successful dolls, they are still made today, although the manufacturer has changed several times. Now they are made by Playmates Petra
