There are quite a lot of bargains around at the moment, especially for Cabbage Patch enthusiasts. Toys R Us have their Paintin' Faces kids down to £17.99 - and Woolworths are even cheaper. There you can get Paintin' Faces Kids for just £11.99, and the Brushin' Teeth babies for the same price. Quite a bargain. Tesco stores have small beanie Cabbage Patch collectables on special offer at two for the price of one - so you only pay £4.99 for a pair, which can't be bad!

Entertainer toy stores are always full of bargains - recently they were selling the Collector's 1996 Wedding Day Barbie with the original 1960s face for only £10.00, and the Festive 1996 Sindy for £6.99 Woolworths had Special Edition 1998 Barbie for £10.99, and several other Barbies on special offer, too. Toys R Us have Doctor Ken for £7.99 and Cool Colours Skipper at the same price.

Our new additions to the collection include a beautiful 25" Roddy toddler with an HP body and vinyl head (often referred to as Transitional - dolls from the late 50s/early 60s were going through this transitional stage of being made from part vinyl, part hard plastic). Hopefully, we'll show a photo of her next time. Another lovely doll, which we bought at a collectables fair, is a 28" Rosebud girl with a mass of curly hair. Dating from the early 1960s, she wears a childs' smocked frock and vyella coat.

Other additions include a mixed bunch of Tiny Tears, Teeny Tiny Tears and Teeny Weeny Tiny Tears, a small Horsman, and an Ideal Bizzie Lizzie doll, which we think is meant to iron and do the housework. Does anyone know about this doll? She has a cheeky face with thin plaits and on her back are two small holes which presumably should connect up to some kind of control unit, rather like a Tippy Tumbles. If anyone can help, we'd love to hear from you. The doll is marked IDEAL 1970 HK- 16-H-171.
